Psalm 71:18 declares: “So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Children are real people with real thoughts and real ideas and real questions. We consider it a great honor to come alongside our covenant families to fill their children’s minds with the truth of who God is – their Creator, and the Savior.
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Our Bible lesson time emphasis is on Scripture memory, Catechism, and foundations of the Gospel. Children’s weekly time also includes crafts and music. Each summer, Vacation Bible School gives us an opportunity to share Jesus with the children in our community.
1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
While the home is the primary place that God uses to disciple teens, we count it a joy to work with our parents to create an atmosphere where teens can wrestle with their tough questions about faith and life, and also have a safe place to interact with their peers. The pressure on our teens to live for themselves is staggering. The world is a dangerous place to navigate for our youth. Statistics show that over 60% of teenagers leave the faith once they leave the home. We want to give our teens the charge to not despise their youth but to use it for God’s glory!
On Sunday mornings, our youth have the opportunity to receive discipleship in God’s Word. Our youth leaders seek to provide Biblical answers to the tough questions that our youth face in today’s constantly challenging world.
We also have monthly opportunities for fellowship and developing friendships.
God’s institution of marriage is under attack more and more each day. Our first priority is to ensure that each spouse is in a correct relationship with Jesus Christ. When our vertical relationship with God is in alignment, then we can focus on God’s design and purposes for marriage. Our hope is that our marriages will be a reflection of the gospel.
A Church Family
Even though we have opportunities for fellowship and instruction for all age levels, we understand and emphasize the value of connecting with one another throughout the whole church family. At New Hope, you will commonly see a retiree sharing a laugh or a random conversation with a young person. We are a family.
